There are two stages to the International English Olympiad (IEO). The second level of the test is open to students who performed well on the previous level. The first stage of the IEO test is administered at the student's individual schools during class hours.
  • To determine whether students are qualified to take the level 2 test, the level 1 performance of the students is evaluated using a range of factors.
  • Students in Classes 1 and 2 are not eligible to take the Level 2 exam. Students who are in grades 3 to 12 may take Level 2 examinations.

What happens if there is a tie for the position among candidates in the IEO?

When applicants are in a tie for a position, SOF will utilize tie-breaking procedures to choose the winner. After looking at the students' section-by-section results, the conducting body decides the final rank.
  • The section for the Achiever is given priority.
  • The scores from the Word and Structure Knowledge section are considered.
  • The Reading section will be evaluated if students get the same grade in this part. The scores for both spoken and written expression are summed up.
