# International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) Syllabus 2022

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) hosts the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) for students in grades 1 through 12. The major aim is finding and helping pupils with a good possibility of becoming future scientists or technologists. There are two levels in the IMO test: level 1 and level 2.

Each class's Mathematics Olympiad Syllabus is broken up into four sections, each of which includes topics and ideas that are perfectly suited to the Syllabus and student comprehension.

There are four sections in the IMO Syllabus:
• Logical reasoning
The section on logical reasoning aids students in sharpening their learning skills and making them more at ease when engaging in verbal and nonverbal reasoning on several subjects.
• Mathematical reasoning
By solving several types of mathematical puzzles, students must acquire several techniques for enhancing their mathematical thinking.
• Everyday Mathematics
The third component, "Everyday Mathematics," aims to help pupils sharpen their problem-solving abilities in relation to numerous mathematical concepts.
Portion for Achiever Students is graded on their foundational mathematics abilities in this section. Since the fundamental ideas are present in this section, students should be familiar with the material beforehand in order to respond more intelligently to varied inquiries.

The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is a yearly competition. The objective is to identify and assist students with a strong chance of becoming scientists in the future. There are two levels of this test, each with a different syllabus like the IMO level 1 syllabus and the SOF IMO second level syllabus.

Here is a list of the class-by-class syllabus for the IMO Olympiad. 35 questions are for Classes 1 to 4, and 50 for Classes 5 to 12.

### Syllabus for Class 1

The topics covered in each of the four sections of the IMO Class 1 Syllabus are mentioned below.

Each of the four parts of the IMO Syllabus Class 3 covers the topics listed below.

However, in a deeper concept. Students should  also prepare for mathematical reasoning.

## How should I prepare for the IMO?

The most effective methods of IMO test preparation include-

You should review multiple IMO exam practice questions and previous Olympiad test questions.

## What types of questions are there for classes 11 and 12 in the IMO test?

This exam is written in objective form and lasts for 60 minutes. For grades 1 to 4, there will be 35 questions, and for grades 5 to 12, there will be 50 questions.

Based on the subjects included in the Olympiads, each test contains three or four stages.
